Politician: U.S. Senator Bob Meendez
U.S. Senator Bob Menendez seeks a full or part-time press intern to work for two summer sessions (May to June and July to August) in his Washington, D.C. office. Interns may work just one session or both (May to August). Candidates must have strong writing skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, helping prepare daily press clips early in the morning, drafting press releases, managing press lists, creating graphics for social media, drafting social media posts, and assisting communications staffers with media interviews and events. In addition, press interns may be asked to help with a variety of administrative tasks, including answering phones, giving U.S. Capitol tours, as well as assisting staff with legislative research and drafting letters. All Senate internships are unpaid. New Jersey ties are preferred, but not required, and having Spanish language fluency is a plus. Prospective interns should be mature, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
