Absentee Voting
Absentee voting is a method of voting when a person is unable to vote on Election Day at their polling location. An absentee ballot can be obtained by filling out an absentee ballot application from the local city/county government. There are a number of potentially approvable reasons for voting absentee such as military service, disability, illness, or working the polls on Election Day. If the application is approved then the ballot will be mailed to the applicant and then must be returned to the local government to be counted. A way people can vote when they cannot get to their polling place. They vote on a special form and mail it in.
